At the beginning of the Roman Art, Romans adopted and often improved skills from other cultures. Then, Roman emperors started to send their statues to faraway cities.(Dubois, Muriel L.) Later, in the Renaissance ; 14th and through the 17th century, Romans’ art improved a lot. Later, the Renaissance artists went to Germany, Netherlands, and Poland and showed them renaissance art.("Renaissance: Influence and Interpretations." ) Ancient Roman art influenced the art in the Renaissance, especially their statues and paintings.

If someone had a big nose and long ears , the statue showed those features.( Dubois, Muriel) Statues were erected of heroes and mortals alike in a wide variety of circumstances. Every temple in Rome had a cult statue; marble and bronze images of gods and heroes. Second, Roman paintings are known to us mainly through the literature. Wall painting, or murals replaced the panel technique, sometimes as decoration, sometimes to depict people or scenes. ("Art, Roman.") By the eruption of the volcano in the Pompeii, very few panel paintings are survived.

Greek colonies in Southern Italy and Sicily had a direct influence on Roman. After the Roman conquest of Greece, much Greek art, particularly sculpture, came to Rome as booty. Second, there was a big change by the Ancient roman empires. Roman styles were gradually developed and they influenced artists throughout the empire.(Carroll Moulton) Roman empire went around the Mediterranean Sea. They transferred their own culture to others. Last but not the least, Renaissance was started as a cultural movement in Italy. Later, they spread Renaissance art into the rest of the Europe. For example, renaissance artists predated the influence from Italy to Germany, Netherlands, Poland etc.("Art, Roman.")
